In 2010, she graduated with a Master of Science in Human Services/Public Service Leadership from Capella University and from Mercer University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

Danielle founded Southern Bridge Inc. Counseling and Family Therapy in 2016 with what she describes as “her purpose”. Danielle’s dream for Southern Bridge Inc. is to create a bridge between hopelessness and healing with the community where she grew up.

Danielle uses a client-focused, multifaceted, and systemic approach based on the unique needs of each client. She currently works with adults, children, and adolescents, individually and/or as a unit. She is experienced in supporting her patients in change using an existential design focused on difficulties that arise from depression, anxiety, spirituality, diversity, complex trauma, and life stage changes. She specializes in working with couples who struggle with intimacy, connection, and relationship difficulties through techniques shown by research to be effective and sees emotional connection and communication as the basis for identifying and alleviating relationship problems.

Danielle believes that each human being has the potential to lessen the severity and heal from the pain of emotional wounds. She works alongside her clients to increase each person’s chance to pursue transformation through therapy. She stands by her promise to support her clients through their unique journey by facilitating awareness guidance, transparency, direction and encouragement.

Laijun English, LPC

Club Villa Location  | Telehealth

Laijun English is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fort Valley State University. Prior to her graduate career she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Women’s Studies. Laijun chose to be a therapist after having a loved one who struggled with mental health which propelled her into the field. As a therapist Laijun believes that it is important to walk in your purpose and she does that daily. Her main goal is to be able to help clients reach their fullest potential and eventually graduate from therapy.

Laijun is a counselor that provides treatment for all teens and adults but truly has a knack for teen girls and women’s issues. She understands the importance of a client being able to find a counselor that they can connect with in more ways than one.  Her formal training is in CBT, but she does have an eclectic style and approach when it comes to therapy because every client’s needs are different.

Lastly, Laijun is originally from Brooklyn, New York. She has always been around a melting pot of people and welcomes all. She understands both city and southern living. She places value in both spaces and feels like they have contributed to who she is both in life and as a therapist. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her dog Max.

Gene Marie Shremshock, LMSW,
BLAST Certified

Club Villa Location | Telehealth

From a young age, Gene Marie was drawn to advocacy and compassionate care—qualities that naturally led her to the field of mental health. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Middle Georgia State University in 2022 and went on to complete her Master’s degree in Social Work at Valdosta State University in 2023 through their Advanced Standing Program. In 2024, she passed her licensing exam to become a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and is currently working toward full licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

Gene Marie’s background includes school social work and victim advocacy, which laid the foundation for her transition into private practice counseling. Her clinical work is grounded in evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and a Systems-Based Approach. This flexible and integrative style allows her to meet clients where they are and support meaningful, individualized progress.
Gene Marie works with clients ages 4 and up, and she specializes in supporting those navigating ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral challenges. Her approach is warm, direct, and collaborative—believing that therapy should be a non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their emotions and experiences without fear of being misunderstood.
She sees therapy as a team effort: working side-by-side with clients to build insight, resilience, and healthy coping strategies. Gene Marie believes that with the right support, anyone can begin the journey toward positive change and emotional well-being.

Gene Marie is currently under clinical supervision provided by Neva Fox MFT001629.

” The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” Psalm 34:18

Veterans, spouses, or couples who feel stuck in patterns of conflict, disconnection, or stress during major life transitions are my specialty. Many are navigating reintegration after military service, challenges in blended families, or communication struggles in their relationship. They want practical tools to improve communication, rebuild trust, and feel more connected at home as well as looking for counseling that respects their faith and allows space for Christian values to be part of the healing process.

If this is ringing a bell, I am dedicated to providing a space for you to flourish and tackle life head on. My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by both service and a deep passion for helping people through life’s challenges. I proudly served five years in the Army as a paratrooper with combat experience, where I learned the importance of resilience, connection, and support during difficult times.  I also spent five years teaching elementary students here in Houston county, an experience that strengthened my love for working with children, families, and people from all walks of life. I hold a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and had the privilege of working in pediatric and cancer care settings.

My home is now, and has been for eleven years, to my wife of twelve years, three sons, and two dogs, Middle Georgia. My approach is practical and collaborative, helping clients improve communication, strengthen relationships, and create healthier patterns at home. Using Solution Focused Brief therapy and Structural Family therapy we get to the root of your goals for therapy. I also offer Christian counseling for those who want to include faith in the process. If you’re feeling stuck in the same arguments, pressures, or life transitions, it may help to talk it through with someone outside the situation. Therapy can be a place to slow down, sort things out, and start moving in a better direction.
